I walk where once your laughter filled the air,
The rooms still lean toward echoes of your name.
Time moves, yet leaves your absence everywhere,
A quiet ache that nothing seems to tame.
I speak to you in thoughts I cannot send,
In pauses where your answer used to stay.
Though distance insists that all sweet things must end,
My heart refuses to give you away.
Grief bends me low, yet teaches how to stand,
To breathe inside the weight of what is gone.
Your love still steadies me, a gentle hand,
A light I carry when the nights drag on.
So if I live, I do so holding true:
That I am shaped forever; loving you.
